Spring 2014 Update from the President

It now seems like spring has finally arrive, and we hope for the golf season to start soon. Just wanted to give the members an update on start up activities at the club.

We have had some volunteer help for the month of March and April and have accomplished many projects to get the Club ready for the 2014 season.  The Men’s and Ladies locker rooms have had a major face lift with plumbing, electrical, major cleaning, painting and ceramic tile installed in the men’s bathroom area. We have done some minor carpentry work that has spruced up both locker rooms. We have also refurbished the men’s and ladies upstairs bathrooms with new paint, ceramic tile and pictures. Several walls have been repainted; general cleaning and maintenance have been done in many rooms

The new deck project has started, thanks to the generous donations from Jeffords Steel and from various individuals who request to be anonymous. I would like to give a special thanks to Board Members Larry Bechard, Tom Reid, Dave Lambert, Club Manager Dustin Beauregard, members Gary Rowe, Gary Boulrice, John Coryea, Jim Favreau, and Doug Poquette who have donated hundreds of hours working on these projects . This is a great way to reduce our expenses but yet do the necessary maintenance to keep the club functional and attractive. Gary Rowe and Kevin Gero purchased the tile for the men’s bathroom in the locker room.

We had our first event on March 31st where the club hosted the North Country Skating group where spaghetti was server to 180 plus participants and family. The event was a great success.

As weather permits we will be organizing more volunteer work bees to get the course ready, with racking, mowing, weed wacking , and other task we can accomplish.

Now that the deck will be almost twice the size, we are asking the membership for any donations so that we can purchase additional furniture for the deck. If interested please send any amount you wish to Dustin or Leanne at the Golf Club or stop by.

Hope to see everyone soon, the snow is melting finally!!!!
